Or, ‘It takes a village to raise a cabaret’.
My debut cabaret has come and gone, and I can’t believe it. Over two beautiful nights at The Butterfly Club, I got to sing my original songs to two beautiful, responses audiences.
And they had some lovely things to say! Here is some feedback posted online from audience members…
“Ilana’s lyrics cut to the core of my being… She’s a musical genius with the voice of an angel and the face of a silent film star.” – A.T.
“A wonderful performance last night, you are truly a class act.” – G.G.
“A beautiful, hilarious, goosebump inducing show.” – J.W.
“Stunning. Thank you for sharing your stories, songs, voice and passion.” – J.B.
“Thank you for sharing all of that and so much of you with us.” -E.J.
“An absolutely stunning cabaret artiste.” – C.V.
“Inspiringly honest.” – B.P.
“A piercing beauty that’s filled with yearning, hopefulness and relief all at once.” – C.B.
“Funny, candid, emotional, and real, but mainly really entertaining!” – L.G.
I couldn’t have made this show without an insane amount of support from a whole heap of people. First of all, my incredible musical director Ned Dixon, who brought their incredible magic to my compositions and without whom this cabaret would not have been nearly as magnificent. To my stellar producer Mama Alto, who put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes making this happen! To all my stunning #MakeMeAMelody artists (Alice Tovey, Andrew Strano, Chloe Violette, Craig Delaland, Ella Jean, Emma Clair Ford, Jack Beeby, Jordan Broadway, Kristiane Burri, Olivia Jade, Satta and shannyn.art), who helped us raise much-needed funds to get this show off the ground. And finally, every single person who bought a ticket, shared my posts, got a selfie. I love you all so much!
Thank you everyone for your support, and I can’t wait to tell you all what’s coming next!
